For your enjoyment

Last week we took a day trip to St. Louis to visit The Jewel Box in Forest Park and the Missouri Botanical Garden.  It was a gorgeously HOT day.  Since I took over 100 pictures, I thought I’d share a few with you.  I hope you enjoy the photos of the beautiful gardens as much as we did.

Beautiful set of pictures, Punkn! Despite the heat, it looks like a very relaxing place to visit.

I enjoyed visiting those places in Missouri thru your eyes (and your lens). Beautiful scenery and great shots. (i loved the slideshow) :) Thank you!

When Karen and I went to Huntsville in 2005, we went to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens. It was a hot, sunny day there, too, and we got a little sunburnt and overheated, but the beauty of the area was worth it. I think I have that set in my Flickr account, but I'm not positive. Will have to check that out sometime.

Thanks again for the slideshow. I loved it.

What a beautiful video! I am going to take your word for it, that all the flowers are correctly named. Becasue I don't have a clue what most of them were!
I really enyoyed your visit there, it's been 39 years since I was there in person.

its beautiful Deanna! It looks really huge! Do you know how many acres it encompasses? I like how it is laid out too with the walking trails! So very nice; I could imagine spending a lot of time there enjoying it all! I liked the fish (poi?) in the pond!!

sounds like a wonderful destination for a day trip!

Those are some beautiful pictures. Does it cost to go there? Would it be a good place to take kids? We live in Missouri and have never been there. I'm looking for some fun but cheap summer fun for my family that includes 5 kids.

Loved the slide show--and the music! What a beautiful place. It does look peaceful--like you could wander and stop and sit all day. Thanks for sharing your trip with us!! :)

well darn it! everytime I click on the video I get an error :( I'll try again later. I do know that when we went to Bush Gardens (busch?) in Florida back in 78 It was gorgeous so I can imagine St. Louis has one that beautiful. Maybe when we move up to the St. Lawrence Valley I can get my son to take me to St Louis to see them myself :)

Oh, isn't The Jewel Box just truly one of the bestest jewels of St. Lou? The Art Museum, Forest Park and the Zoo! I had to go back to St. Lou the first week of June for a DR.'s appointment and we drove all thru that area. It was very hot and sticky when we went so we stayed in the car. We did walk Des Peres Park a favorite too. the Gate House, the stone work!!! And I had forgotten about the Rock Garden with the beautiful textures from raking. Beautiful shots Deanna made even better with Somewhere Over the Rainbow. WHO is singing it????? Fun this morning :) It's gonna be beautiful here in MissouREE today!
