Bag Lady

In my previous post I mentioned that I have an apron fetish.
I also have a bag fetish.  Not purse, but bag.
A few months ago Lynn at Ramblin' Southern Woman posted the cutest bag ever.  It was made of placemats!  And I thought "I can do that".
Since then I've made seven of those placemat bags.
Here are four of them.  The others have already found new homes.
These are going to be given to my girls when we take our family vacation this weekend to Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City.
Except for the wine one.
That one is mine!  Because I love wine!

Placemat Bags
I plan on making one more of these (or two, or three, or four...) for our Church Silent Auction.
Can't you just see a Fall Themed Placemat Bag filled with yummy goodies or baking supplies?  I can!

Gosh these are cute! I love bags, too...all kinds. Have to keep myself from buying any because there are only so many I can actually use--LOL! That's a great idea to make them as gifts and donations. Perfect solution to a bag fetish. ;)

Sounds like a fantastic idea. It would be fantastic with a Wintery one filled with holiday goodies too, I bet! :)

How adorable..I wish I could sew..never could. tried..even took homeec where you gotta sew. I made an apron in the 8th grade that came out okay..but..maybe it was my teacher in highschool LOL She never really tried to help the girls that had never sewn before. Only the ones that knew what they were doing :(

Very nicely done, Deanna! About the only things I sew are buttons, hems if absolutely necessary, and I once made a three-legged octopus in Home Ec.

I like bags too! They have so many uses. I love the bright colors you have. Great to take on cruises, right? lol

Wow, you have some nice bags there. You did a great job on them. :)

I don't sew unless a button falls off or a seam breaks open. My older sister loved to sew, tho. (she's the one who ran her index finger thru a sewing machine needle when we were kids. big time ouch) We had to make skirts in Home-Ec class. :\

Can I be part of your family this weekend? I really, really need a vacation. LOL (have a fun weekend)
