As we get older, we tend to wander... from day to day, to project to project, and from what is important and what is not. In our case we also plan on doing some wandering around the country. I hope you will join us.

Truly Rotten
How many of us can say we wear our clothing until it is worn out… rotten?
To my surprise I found a shirt in my trash today. What’s up with that????? We don’t throw antiques away!!!!
Jim recycles clothes like others recycle aluminum. A shirt starts out as Sunday best, then becomes everyday, then becomes weekend knock around, then it has the honor of becoming a farm work shirt. Surely it has happened before, but I cannot recall ever seeing the final phase before… the trash. So, I respectfully closed the trash bin and grinned, knowing there is hope for my “can’t get rid of anything” man yet.

Update on Dad
After working all day and spending my evenings caring for dad, I'll have to admit I am weary to the bone as I drop into my bed each night. The weariness is more emotional than physical.
Thanks for all your kind comments, thoughts and prayers. Keep em coming and I'll keep you posted as I know more.
Huge hugs to all!

Let the sun shine
New life. That is what Spring signifies.
Christ has died, Christ is risen.
The dreary browns of winter turn to green and vibrant colors of yellow, red, purple, pinks, orange…
The world is full of suffering. It is also full of joy. Sometimes the two collide. The impossible turns into a ray of light.
My blog friends impact my life. When they are happy, I am happy. When they are sad, I am sad. I hate it when they hurt. I love it when they feel good and all is well in their world. I encourage everyone to write about the good and bad. To me that is what blog is all about. I don’t want to read only good… that isn’t real life. At least isn’t real life that I’ve ever known!
My own life is once again threatened with a dark cloud of pain. My dear dad, after caring for my confused, Alzheimer plagued mom for 5 or more years, is now entering a fight he probably won’t win. We enter a new round of tests tomorrow, but short of a miracle, the diagnosis won’t be good. I believe in miracles, but I’m not silly enough to think that one is in the offing right now.
This is new life. God will take him in his own time. And dad will rejoin with the love of his life. I will shed my tears. But the tears will be for me. I know dad will be like mom – no longer in pain.
For all my blog friends – I know many of you are going through trials… depression, loss of family, loss of health, break-up in relationships. The list goes on and on. Just know that you are not alone. Let it all out. We are here for you.
And for you lucky souls who are not going through trials at the moment – let your sun shine through! We all need a smile ya know.

Loose Tooth
If it was that time of year for Jolly Ole’ St. Nick to come around, granddaughter Anna Rose would be singing “All I want for Christmas…”
I wonder if the Easter Bunny has any magical powers along those lines…
I should have fixed corn on the cob today and helped this child out. She has one more tooth hanging by who knows what and she wouldn’t let anyone pull it. So I snapped pictures of her worrying away at it.
I just hope she doesn’t swallow the little pearl while she sleeps tonight!

Enjoy
According to youtube this young lady is Melissa Venema with Andre Rieu at Amsterdam Arena. I found the music to be very haunting and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
