Will I ever learn Wednesday

Guess what! I didn't do anything ditzy this week.
Well, not as ditzy as usual. And certainly not blog worthy ditzy.

Watching grandkids doesn't count as a will I ever learn... They were dolls. I just need to remember to get more food in the house for the next time they stay with us.

I finally changed my Mafia Wars dudette's name to Ditzy Dee. I thought it had a nice ring to it.

Oh, I started the South Beach diet on Sunday. The day the grandkids were pulling out all the junk food stops. I guess that wasn't the smartest thing I've ever done. But I am proud to report that I behaved! I didn't eat a single morsel of food that I wasn't supposed to.

I know many have grave reservations over these low carb/no carb diets. Me too. But the South Beach one seems to be a reasonable moderation of the Atkins diet. I hope I haven't made a mistake.

I have two trips planned within the next two weeks. One to Memphis and one to Arizona. Wait! Did I say I just started a diet? Ok, now that qualifies for a will I ever learn...

Wow! I hope you enjoy your trips! And good luck with the diet - the South Beach one does sound pretty sane to me (especially for a diabetic!)

Seems to be a good time to go to Arizona! Enjoy the desert!

Good for you for staying good, even when your grandkids were pulling out the junkfood. That is the hardest!

Sounds like you are getting out of Dodge just as the weather is to break.
Have fun filled trips.

you go girl with the South Beach diet!!! Me and hubby are on it for 2-1/2 weeks and hubby lost 10 pounds the first 2 weeks (I know I lost but I don't get on the scale LOL so I have no idea how much I lost, once I lose a bit more, then I'll get on it, I have scale phobia). It really is a very good diet to be on and it is much healthier than Atkins and relatively easy to follow. When you travel, just think of salads with protein and omelettes without the hashbrowns, etc that usually come with them.

I know you'll do great on the diet!

Wow, this is really getting funny about the coincidences here. What is your brother's name? Our house was built in 1992.
Osage Bluff 4-H, so he lived in the area? We live just 2 miles from my husband's home place. As a kid he walked to Osage Bluff to the grocery store, actually rode his bike mostly.
Okay you ready for this? Is Jim's Mom at Summit Villa? My Mom, Sis Cardwell has been there since May 2009. I am thinking it's Jim's Mom that plays the piano so beautifully.

okay this is getting funny . . .
Pat Hood and his wife Jenny (whom I've known for years, her mother and I worked together at Farm bureau) owned a lot in our subdivision, but sold it to Tom and Barbara (who happens to be related to me. Her maiden name was Saucier and so was my Mother's maiden name.) I think Barb's Dad and my mother were first cousins.
My husband grew up on Rt B just 1/2mile east of Rt E.
Mom tells me the story all the time about Mrs Haslag not being able to read music. But WOW I've heard her play. Beautiful.
Some day I will have to ask you all about your embrodiery machine. I want one. Funny thing, when I told my Mom about going to Versailles and I saw one of those machines, she said when I'm gone you buy one with the $ I leave you and think of me everytime. I told her that was too morbidded to talk about now!

Have a greatly blessed day!!!

South Beach has been around awhile now, hasn't it? I'm always suspicious of diets, but if one's still around more than a few months after it's first popular, you gotta figure maybe there's something to it.
