10 Year Old Boy with Autism Sings Open the Eyes of My Heart

Despite being blind with autism, this 10 year old boy is an inspiration to all. He still has faith in God and a beautiful gift of music. Listen to him sing Open the Eyes of My Heart. Beautiful.

Just beautiful. God works in mysterious ways.

This is one of my favorite songs...used to stream it a lot on Sunday mornings in the chat room.

He has such focus when doing something that he loves!
I know friends with autistic children and the way they are able to channel their energies into music and art is amazing. I hope he continues to use his gift!

We need to see things like this - to remind us of the things we might lose view of...

I needed to see this, Mom. You may not know it but I have one autistic child in my classroom this year and another I suspect is autistic. I often become frustrated and confused by their behaviors. This helped remind me that they are God's gift too and that I need to pray more to help get us through the day. They have a lot to give - I may just need to look harder for it. All of my students are gifts and I need to look at my time with them more like a gift from God - not as another day to get through. Thanks for helping renew my energy to get through this year!
