In Memory
One gift, above all others
God gives to us to treasure
One that knows no time, no place
And one gold cannot measure
The precious, poignant tender gift
Of Memory, that will keep
On dear ones ever in our hearts
Although God gives them sleep it brings back long remembered things.
A song, a word, a smile
And the world's a better place because
We had them for awhile!
“To live in the hearts of those you left behind is never to die”
"The greatest glory of a free-born people is to transmit that freedom to their children."
Taps
Day is done.
Gone the sun
From the lake.
From the hills.
From the sky.
All is well.
Safely rest
God is nigh.
Fading light.
Dims the sight
And a star.
Gems the sky.
Gleaming bright
From afar.
Drawing nigh.
Falls the night.

Great post
Beautiful picture wall... it shows some loving and caring faces look at you everyday.. and some that you can't see.
Thank you for this!!! I did not know there were words to Taps. God bless your family members that served our country.
Oh how I love old family portraits and snapshots. If only they could speak.

Beautiful post.
We used to say taps at the end of every session of Girl Guides, and the end of each day when away at camp with the Girl Guides.
A lovely tribute -- and what a nice photo wall!

I like the 'parents collage' on the blog.
Love the words to taps. I had spent over 20 years in the military before I knew there were words to Taps.
